Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a District of Columbia license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Required Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Nasal Cannula, Tracheostomy care/management, Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, MS/Tele, Surgical drains

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience, Accessing/Managing Ports, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs, Telemetry

Required Credentials:

  • Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.
  • Drivers License/State ID

  • On Call/Weekend Requirement: no on-call requirement, weekend rotation included (every other required)
  • Rotating shifts can vary between switching between days and nights within the same week and/or working a few weeks of days and then a few weeks of nights. Flexibility is a must Floating Requirements:

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
