Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

For DC locations – You must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending (See JD). MedStar will usually accept a later booking date if you have applied for DC licensure.

For MD Locations – You must have compact license or MD license.

• IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Work Settings, MS/Tele, Telemetry, ER Holding, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Genitourinary/Renal, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Medications, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Orthopedics, Total joint replacement, Plastics, Surgical drains, Respiratory, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy care/management, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• We perform gender affirmation surgery so they need to be comfortable with this patient population (experience not required but preferred)
• Previous Charge Experience
• Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs

Required Credentials: Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms

Special Requests:

• Holiday Requirement: Will have to work 2/3 winter holidays and other future holidays during the contract
• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend requirement: Every other weekend requirement

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
