Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted.

• No previous experience allowed for Staff at Facility: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), Insulin drips, Heparin drips - training available from charge and educator

Reading/Interpreting Rhythm strips – please decline if they are not comfortable with this

Trach care, Chest tube management, General Medical Surgical skills (wound care, IVABX, Drain/tube management, IV starts, central line management, etc.)

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous charge experience

Required Credentials: EKG interpretation

Roles requiring state licensure only: License should not expire within 45 days following start date

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Common diagnoses include but are not limited to: Stroke, COPD, Respiratory issues and illnesses – Flu/PNA/COVID, GI Bleed, Renal Failure (AKI/CKD), Electrolyte imbalance, altered mental status, weakness, non-operable fractures

Non-surgical unit

Types of Patients on Unit: Any medical diagnosis except primary Cardiac could be seen on this unit. Unit will monitor patients on Telemetry (Med-Tele)

Technology Used on Unit: Alaris, Pyxis

Unit/Facility Details:

Beds: 44 private and semi-private rooms

Parking: Free in designated areas

Special Requests: Housing in ME becomes more expensive in the summer months, beginning in May. Be sure to confirm you are comfortable with housing options before applying.

Travel Pairs: If you are in a relationship, EMMC will not schedule you on the same days. If you are not in a relationship, you can be scheduled for the same days if not on the same shift/unit. Managers will not guarantee the same schedule for travel pairs.

Shift & Scheduling:

Weekend rotation: Every other Weekend

Call required: none

Holiday Expectations: no Holiday RTO is accepted at this time

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

Driver’s license required
