Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience with drips.

Special Requests: Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Will not take travel pairs or clinicians who are part of a travel pair. Cannot guarantee block scheduling; scheduling requests will be considered and block scheduling will be accommodated when possible, but cannot be fully guaranteed. Previous Marshfield employment requires an end date at least 6 months before submission.

Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios are day/evening 1:4-5 and nights 1:6, with uncommon increases to 1:7 if short staffed. Patient population includes oncology/hematology, general medical, GI bleed, PE/DVT, sepsis, CHF/COPD, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and weakness. No oncology or chemotherapy knowledge is required; internal nurses handle treatment needs. RNs titrate drips including insulin, heparin, Cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, and octreotide, and must be comfortable managing blood transfusions. Centralized tele techs monitor and read strips; nurses are not required to read their own strips, but are expected to be tele-aware. Charge nurse and house supervisor are on all shifts; charge takes a modified assignment, and travelers may be asked to step into charge if comfortable, especially on nights. RT is in house 24/7 across multiple units; patients may require continuous CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow O2.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Holiday requirements are 2 of 3 winter holidays and every other holiday at other times. No call.

Floating Requirements: First to float within med-surg units; outside med-surg, floating is only for observer needs or helping hands/tasking, and floating is done in 4-hour increments.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
