Experience:
• 36 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 36 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with CPSI is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a New Mexico license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed.
• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Artesia General Hospital.

Dress Code: Artificial nails are not permitted. Hair coloring must be natural colors; acceptable hair coverings should be worn if hair coloring is outside of natural color. Visible face and neck tattoos are not acceptable. Tattoos reflecting racial, nudity, or derogatory images or words must be covered.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have 3 years of MS-Tele experience. Must be able to titrate drips and read and interpret telemetry strips.
Preferred Skills/Experience: PCU/Stepdown experience preferred. Ability to maintain intubation preferred. LTAC experience great to have
Required Credentials: Artesia has modules that must be completed prior to the clinician working the floor. Modules take around 20 hours to complete. Client allows for billing of module work up to 6 hours.
Unit Details: Cares for medical/surgical and PCU patients; patients can be very ill and may be on drips and invasive monitors. No ICU in-house; higher-acuity patients are transferred to a higher-level hospital. Occasional titration of insulin, amiodarone, and levofed drips; multiple drip protocols. Uses Mindray cardiac monitors. Travelers are typically not asked to step into the charge role. Nurse aides assist with vitals, ADLs, I/Os, transfers, transports, and showers; nurses perform AccuChecks. RT is in house 24/7 and manages respiratory equipment; the unit may care for patients on continuous BiPAP/CPAP.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. May be asked to participate in the holiday rotation. No call. 7-7; block scheduling is not guaranteed. The manager will ask for an ideal schedule, but travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent staff schedules. Requests will be accommodated when possible, but not at the expense of permanent staff scheduling.
Floating Requirements: Depending on competency, nurses may be called upon to work in the PCU area within the department. Some ICU, the nurses rotate through our PCU area, but the patients can be very ill and on drips, have invasive monitors, etc.
7 days maximum time off
