Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a District of Columbia license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

Required Skills/Experience May screen strong MS RN candidates with 1.5 to < 2 years MS exp, who acquire that 1.5+ yrs in a steady flow (not a cumulative total across different jobs.

Required Credentials: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Common surgical procedures include reconstructive plastic surgery, diabetic limb salvage often with reconstructive flaps, complex wound management, and surgical wound care.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults

Unit/Facility Details: Our 16-bed Plastic Surgery and Limb Salvage unit, with all-private rooms and the ability to offer continuous pulse oximetry, provides exceptional post- operative care for patients undergoing complex procedures.

Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Auto Offer Requirements: No RTO, DC License in Hand, Holiday coverage availability

Shift & Scheduling: Start Date : 11/3

36 hours OR 48 hours

Every Other Weekend

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
