Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

• 3 months of experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Can not apply to any Ohio State University facilities, if you have an active application to any of the James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3 years of medsurg experience required.
  • Skills required: IV start, tele.
  • Heparin Protocols, PCA, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips, Feeding tube care and management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy care/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Teaching Hospital Experience.
  • Manage Cardiac drips- no titration*.

Unit/Facility Details:

  • Parking Options for Travelers

  • WMC Agency Permit – $215/month Guaranteed parking in an OSUWMC visitor garage. Best option for travelers who want the closest and most reliable parking.

  • CXS Permit – $31.42/month Includes shuttle service every 15–30 minutes, but service is limited. The route has multiple stops and drops off about a street over from OSUWMC. Best suited for Jameson Crane Sports Medicine. Also includes access to 9th Ave Garages (East and West) on weekends and holidays.

  • WB Permit – $15.67/month Most affordable option. Parking is in West Campus Carmack Lots 2 and 3, about 1.7 miles from OSUWMC. The Pink shuttle runs every 3–5 minutes during peak start/end times and goes directly to the medical center in about 8–9 minutes. Also includes access to 9th Ave Garages (East and West) on weekends and holidays. Weekend access is from Friday at 2 PM through Monday at 8 AM; outside those hours, regular hourly garage rates apply.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend and rotating holidays. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed.
  • Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule

Floating Requirements: Will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
