Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• ASN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast.

• 12 months gap required between for Part-Time at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast and no current placement allowed at Program: Simplifi Program - Advocate Health Southeast.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: General Med/Tele skillset: stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps. Medication gtt management to include: cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF.

Required Credentials: - Education: ASN / BSN

Special Requests: RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.

Unit Details: Patient population includes end stage renal, PD, fluid overload, sickle cell, DM, altered mental status, cellulitis, diabetic ulcers, pancreatitis, behavioral health. RN ratio: 1:5-6 (critical surge 1:7-8). CNA ratio: 1:6-12. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitors. Department support includes CNA, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse may or may not have patients, phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws, IV/VAT Team 11a-7p and 11p-7a, resource nurse as staffing allows, RT and hospitalist 24/7, intensivist in house until 11p M-F and until 7p Sat/Sun with VCC coverage and on-call intensivist. No telemetry tech.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: Floats to all units within scope at Mercy and within scope of practice. Required to float within Region 1 as needed: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only)); could float to any facility within the region if the need arises.

6 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
