Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: 1 year MedSurg/Tele experience.
Unit Details: Mostly geriatric patients. Cardiac: CHF, chest pain obs; no cath lab on site, and patients needing cath are transferred to St. Luke’s MC. Neuro: seizure obs, stroke obs, TIA vs. stroke rule out, altered mental status. General medical: COPD and respiratory, kidney, liver, and GI issues. RN skills include experience with the above patient types, NG tube placement/management, Foley placement/management, chest tube management, PleurX and other drains, wound care, central line/ports/midline blood draws, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Drips that may be titrated within set parameters: Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, insulin. RN ratios: days 1:4-5; nights 1:6-7, can go up to 1:8, but not common. CNA ratios: days 1:5-6; nights: 1:7-8. Reduced-assignment charge RN; HUC until 2300; phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws; RT and hospitalist 24/7; OT/PT/ST during the day; centralized tele monitoring with tele techs and a central monitor at the nurse’s station. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, and patient lifts including ceiling lifts. Parking: Free employee parking lot
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Low census call only; could be placed on low census call for up to 36h per contract. 50% of holidays per contract.
Floating Requirements: Could float and take patient assignments on other MedSurg units or anywhere in the hospital MedSurg patients are located, including ER hold and ICU; will only take a MedSurg patient assignment.
