Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
• BSN completion preferred
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.
• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health

Required Skills/Experience: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Care of Ventilated Patient, External CPAP/BIPAP, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Tracheostomy care/management, Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, IV insulin protocols, 12-Lead EKG, Ventilator Management
Preferred Skills:
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Manage Cardiac drips - no titration
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge, Teaching Hospital, Community Hospital, and LTAC Experience
Trauma Level I Experience
Required Credentials: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Unit/Facility Details: May come into contact with Covid Patients
Special Requests: Return Staff Policy - If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
Shift & Scheduling:
Holidays: Every other Holiday as needed
Weekend Requirements: 6 per 6 week schedule. every other weekend
7 days maximum time off
2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
Proof of identification required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
