Shift: 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.

• 12 months of acute care experience.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Vaya Workforce Solutions - Cook County.

Preferred Skills/Experience: One (1) year recent full time paid clinical experience in an acute care health facility or ambulatory care facility

Required Credentials:

  • Proof of successful completion of coursework for medication administration (Pharmacology) as a Practical Nurse in accordance with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) regarding Standards of Pharmacology/Administration for Medication Course for Practical Nurses (Must provide documentation at time of interview)
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Practical Nursing and current licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Illinois or ability to obtain license two weeks prior to starting employment.

Unit/Facility Details: Per Aya standards we need 2 references within 2 years of start but this will not prevent the candidate from starting on time.

Special Requests:

  • You must be able to start on the start date specified for this job.
  • Do not apply if you are not willing to meet the possible floating obligation.
  • Labs must be completed within 48 hours of accepting an offer.
  • RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month

Floating Requirements:

  • Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Cook is a MANDATORY FLOAT FACILITY, all resources are required to float at the facilities discretion.
  • Cook has the ability to request that any clinician float outside of their “home” facility as long as the floating does not exceed 50 miles. Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift. If your clinician refuses to float, they will be subject to cancelation. There are no home units. Your clinician could be floated to a variety of units, including outside of their primary area of competency. If they are floated outside of their primary competency, the team-based model will be used.
