Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Credentials: - Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels.

Unit Details: - Charge nurse is usually available 24/7 depending on the schedule and may take patient assignments if needed. - Telemetry patients are monitored by a central monitor tech; strip visualization is available on the floor if needed. Lasix drips and Heparin drips are the most common on Med-Surg. - No vents on the unit. BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow patients are seen. - No IV team. - Common diagnoses/types of patients: COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID, Pneumonia, and surgical patients including hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend for both day shift and night shift; weekend is Saturday and Sunday. - No call requirement. - Depending on schedule, may require every other holiday if needed. - Self-scheduling is available, but due to the short contract term the manager will enter schedules.

Special Requests: - We attempt to accommodate block scheduling if possible, but must still meet the every other weekend requirement.

Floating Requirements: - May float to another floor if they have the competency to do so. When floating, you will always take a full patient assignment (ICU RNs included).

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
