Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 6 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - 1 year, at least 6 months of this needs to be neuro. - Trach care, vent, IV’s, PICC, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, pulmonary patients with trachs, laryngectomies, central line, G-tube/Peg-tube (tube feeds); VADs (core staff responsible)

Special Requests: - First-time travelers accepted with manager approval. - Holiday coverage required; if back-to-back holidays fall during the contract (e.g., Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day), only one holiday grouping will be assigned. - RTO requests go through the manager.

Unit Details: - TBI-focused neuro unit caring for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputee, burn, pediatric and multi-trauma, pneumonia, tunneled cath, and post-craniotomy patients with shunts. - Travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients. - Dialysis patients are sent to HD; PD patients are taken to the cycler area. - Patient ratios are 1:6-7; assignments of 7 patients typically occur 2-3 times per month. - Unit work includes trach care, vented patients, IVs, PICC/central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, pulmonary patients with trachs, laryngectomies, and G-tube/Peg-tube feedings; VADs are handled by core staff. - Phlebotomy support is available, but RNs are ultimately responsible. - No monitors on the unit; Vital Sync monitors hook up to Oxy net with centralized night monitoring. - Uses Plum 360 IV pumps and Omnicell.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every third weekend. - No on-call. - Shift times: 0630-1900, 1830-0700. - Schedule cycle is 6 weeks at a time.

Floating Requirements: - Could float within scope of practice here. All staff evenly float; mainly use Float Pool to float.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 09/07/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 0

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
