Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• 3 months of travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• 6 months of Trauma Level 1 facility is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Mississippi license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Minimum of 2 yrs RN experience with a minimum of 6 mos recent Level 1 trauma experience required or experience at a larger facility (400+ beds) with a lot of surgeries/high-acuity patients; must be comfortable with lines and chest tubes. Proficient with Epic charting is required; there will be no Epic charting training during orientation.
Preferred Skills/Experience: At least 1 completed travel assignment highly preferred but not required.
Special Requests: A 3 mos separation is required for PERM, PRN, or internal contract workers (HMP). Managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as the schedule allows.
Unit Details: The unit serves all patient populations; common diagnoses include general medical-surgical cases, congestive heart failure, diabetes, postsurgical patients, trauma patients, acute kidney injury, sickle cell anemia, gastroparesis, and respiratory illnesses. RNs titrate heparin drips. All units have telemetry capability; patients are monitored via a central monitor station that communicates with the RN. Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators; CPAP/BiPAP are used at night with respiratory therapy support, and high-flow is available on 2N. Ratios are adjusted down for higher-acuity patients.
Shift & Scheduling: Travelers are expected to fill schedule gaps. Self-scheduling is not available. Working every weekend is available if desired, but it is not required. Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month is standard; this could be higher to meet department needs. Holiday coverage rotates with regular staff. No call or standby requirement.
Floating Requirements: Staff float within their skill set between all medical-surgical units; higher-acuity patients are assigned to core staff.

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
