Shift: 6:45 PM - 6:45 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Tennessee license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Additional Details:

In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match the address on the driver’s license.

Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/Tdap declinations.

Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates must have been separated from Ascension employment for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.

Required Credentials: Driver’s license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Medical Surgical Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test.

Unit Details: Post-op surgical care to general surgery patients. Regularly cares for overflow medical and surgical patients from throughout the hospital. Common diagnoses include bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity. Patients must be hemodynamically stable and not require mechanical ventilation. Adult population: young adult through late adult (18 - 60+). Surgical residents help cover most surgeons 24 hours a day.

Floating Requirements: Travelers may be asked to float to different units or facilities based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Travelers will always be notified before their scheduled shift if a float assignment is required.
