Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Special Requests: Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Block scheduling is available.

Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. The unit provides post-surgical care for patients with drains and chest tubes, including pain management. RNs titrate drips. Common titratable and set-rate drips include analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control. The unit is monitored by tele techs in a central monitoring room. Respiratory support includes nasal cannula up to 6L, CPAP, and BiPAP for night use only.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is available. The schedule includes 6-9 weekends in a six-week schedule; full- and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule. Holiday coverage is required. Call or standby requirements are determined by the nurse manager. Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are completed remotely.

Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float; if an extreme need arises, they may float within Zone 3 based on nurse manager and department needs.
