Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Understanding of working in a rural setting is preferred.

Unit Details: This is a rural setting with lower resources and typically lower patient volumes. Patients commonly present with congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, chest-pain workups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. RNs titrate drips, including analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control. There are no telemetry/monitor technicians; RNs must be comfortable reading strips and escalating concerning findings to a physician. Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators.

Shift & Scheduling: Full- and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans, and ensuring equitable distribution among all staff. Call or standby requirements are determined by the nurse manager. Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if the first-day modules are remote.

Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float. Floating is determined by the nurse manager and department needs.
