Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Florida license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Prior travel experience of at least 1 assignment is required.

Unit Details: This is a post-operative medical-surgical unit. Patient population includes medical and surgical overflow patients age 18+. The unit is busy and has high patient turnover. The unit uses a primary nursing model. Travel RNs at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare will care for COVID-19 patients if needed. Uses EPIC. Uses Pyxis. Equipment includes Hospira Plum 360 IV pumps, wound vacs, bladder scans, wall suction, and SCDs. Unit procedures include urine specimen collection and phlebotomy by RNs and PCAs. Respiratory and anesthesia support are available 24/7.

Shift & Scheduling: Shift hours may be 7a-7p or 7p-7a. Modified self-scheduling: travelers enter their own schedules in Opti-Link, and the manager balances the schedule. Weekend rotation is every 3rd weekend. Holiday coverage is required of all travelers, with rotation through the holidays; holiday requirements vary by unit.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float at the manager’s discretion and will float to all units within the medical-surgical division.

Special Requests: Travel pairs are not accepted for Med-Surg or Tele units unless specifically requested by the facility. No holiday RTO or RTO exceeding 7 consecutive days is allowed; RTO requests of more than 4 days require manager approval. Parking is available in Lot C on Surgeons Drive; a free shuttle to and from the hospital runs every 5-10 minutes.
