Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $1970 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with any experience within the last 12 months.

• Experience with MEDHOST is preferred.

• 12 months of acute care experience.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Experience with IVs. - Experience with NG tubes. - Experience with PICC and central line care. - Experience with catheter care. - Experience with post-op surgical care for general surgery patients. - Experience with post-op surgical care for patients after total knee and hip replacement, hernia repair, and colectomy.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Foley catheter experience preferred. - IV insertion experience preferred. - Telemetry experience preferred. - Tube-feeding experience preferred. - Stroke experience preferred. - Post-op care experience preferred.

Required Credentials: - ADN or BSN required.

Unit Details: - Telemetry monitoring is part of the Medical-Surgical unit. - Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, JP drains, Hemovac drains, NG tubes, and PEG tubes. - Clinical care includes ostomy care and tube feeding. - Patient population ranges from age 18 to geriatric. - Day shift has a lot of admissions and discharges. - Common diagnoses and treatments include total joint replacement, general surgery, COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and A-fib.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation is every other weekend.

Floating Requirements: - The clinician may float to the Step Down Unit to care for Medical-Surgical patients if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required
