Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $1970 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with any experience within the last 12 months.

• Experience with MEDHOST is preferred.

• 12 months of acute care experience.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with IVs is required. Experience with NGs is required. PICC and central line care is required. Catheter care is required. Post-op surgical care for general surgery patients is required. Post-op surgical care for total knee and hip replacements, hernia repairs, and colectomies is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Foley catheter care is preferred. IV insertion experience is preferred. Telemetry experience is preferred. Tube-feeding experience is preferred. Stroke experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: An ADN or BSN is required.

Unit Details: Day shift has many admissions and discharges. The unit uses Baxter IV pumps and Omnicell. Care includes JP drains, Hemovac drains, ostomy care, NG tubes, tube feeding, and PEG tubes. The patient population ranges from age 18 to geriatric. Common diagnoses and treatments include total joint replacement, general surgery, COPD, diabetes, dementia, dialysis, stroke, NSTEMI, CHF, and A-fib.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend.

Floating Requirements: Floats to step-down to care for med/surg if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required
