Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2000 per week.

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: At least 1 travel assignment required. Recent Epic charting experience required.

Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate.

Unit Details: Ratios: Days 1:5-6; nights 1:6-7; charge nurse takes a patient assignment. Cares for post-surgical patients including Whipple, vascular, pre-/post-heart cath, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, open bellies, and thyroid surgery cases; also includes dementia, AMS, CIWA/detox, and fall-risk patients. Expected skills include PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, telemetry interpretation, wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes), and pre-/post-heart cath care (Fem./TR bands, no interventions). Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires.

Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week available upon request. Weekly hours may be reduced during orientation and during holidays when the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh, IN, and potentially Deaconess Henderson, KY. 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within the same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
