Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - UNC Health Southeastern and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - UNC Health Southeastern.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Foley care, and central line management, dressing changes, and blood draws. - Experience caring for patients on dialysis and BiPAP. - Heparin drips.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - Experience with post-pacemaker placement and post-cath patients with no interventions preferred.
Special Requests: - RTO requests: up to 5 days may be approved. - Cannot guarantee block scheduling.
Unit Details: - Common patient population/diagnoses: COPD, CHF, diabetes, infections, electrolyte imbalances, altered mental status, sepsis workup, and post-general surgery. - Occasional post-pacemaker placement and post-cath patients with no interventions. - Support/resources: CNA support 1:9; LPNs utilized in standard nurse capacity; unit secretary during the day; charge nurse carries a full patient assignment; phlebotomy 24/7; no IV/VAT team; house supervisor and rapid response team 24/7; RT 24/7; hospitalist 24/7; intensivist 24/7; telemetry monitoring/tech 24/7. - Equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Spacelabs monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - No call. - Holiday rotation required. - Cannot clock in until 7 minutes before shift start; must clock in on time and clock out no earlier than 7:23.
Floating Requirements: - Will float to other Med/Surg areas within the facility if needed. Could float to ICU for Med/Surg patients only; will never have ICU/PCU patient assignment.
5 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
