Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2050 per week.

Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Required skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV start, Foley care, a strong Med-Surg skill set, central line management, dressing changes, blood draw, and caring for patients on dialysis and BiPAP.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with post-pacemaker placement and post-cath patients is preferred but not required.
Unit Details: Common patient types and diagnoses include COPD, CHF, diabetes, infections, electrolyte imbalances, altered mental status, sepsis workup, and post-general surgery. Occasional post-pacemaker placement and post-cath patients without interventions may be encountered. Heparin drips are used. Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors. Support includes 24/7 phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, intensivist, telemetry monitoring/tech, and Rapid Response Team coverage; the house supervisor serves as the resource nurse. No IV/VAT team is available.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation is every other weekend. No call. Holiday rotation is required. Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved. Shift times: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730. Schedules are made in 6-week increments and provided 2 weeks before each cycle begins.
Floating Requirements: Will be floated if needed to other Med-Surg areas within the facility. May float to the ICU for Med-Surg patients only; will never receive an ICU/PCU patient assignment.
Special Requests: Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
