Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - UNC Health Southeastern and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - UNC Health Southeastern.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Foley care, central line management/dressing changes/blood draws, dialysis patients, BiPAP patients, and heparin drips.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with post-pacemaker placement and post-cath patients with no interventions preferred.

Required Credentials: NCI de-escalation training required; can obtain on site if needed.

Special Requests: RTO requests: up to 5 days may be approved. Cannot guarantee block scheduling.

Unit Details: Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, diabetes, infections, electrolyte imbalances, altered mental status, sepsis workup, and post-general surgery. May occasionally care for post-pacemaker placement and post-cath patients with no interventions. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, and Spacelabs monitors. Support includes CNA 1:9, LPNs utilized in standard nurse capacity, phlebotomy/RT/hospitalist/intensivist/telemetry monitoring 24/7, no IV/VAT team, and a charge nurse with a full patient assignment.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call. Holiday rotation required. Cannot clock in until 7 minutes before shift starts and must clock out no earlier than 7:23.

Floating Requirements: Will float to other Med/Surg areas within the facility if needed. Could float to ICU for Med/Surg patients only and will never have ICU/PCU patient assignments.

5 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
