Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >45 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: - Experience with bedside shift report is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - Experience with the shift they are submitted for (days vs. nights) is preferred.
Special Requests: - Blocked scheduling can be accommodated at times.
Unit Details: - The unit has high turnover on day shift; discharging a patient is followed by an admission. - Patient population may include older teens and adults. - The unit treats a wide range of diagnoses, including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal and respiratory viruses. - Surgical patients include orthopedic cases involving hips, knees and shoulders; general surgery involving the appendix, gallbladder and bowel; spinal surgery including laminectomies and spinal fusions; and urology. - RNs are required to titrate drips. - Common drips include titratable heparin and set-rate Bumex and Lasix. - Cardiac technicians are available 24/7. - Respiratory equipment includes tracheostomy equipment, CPAP for OSA, BiPAP and high-flow equipment, although these are not often used. - Respiratory therapy support is available 24/7. - Daily expectations include helping answer call lights with the CNA and proactive patient rounding.
Shift & Scheduling: - Travel RNs cannot self-schedule. - Weekend coverage is required as needed. - Holiday coverage is required as needed. - Call or standby is required only for low-census or cancelled shifts.
Floating Requirements: - May float to IMCU for Med-Surg assignments.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
