Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• Local & travel allowed.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• No current placement allowed at Program: Medefis Program - Southern Illinois Healthcare.

Additional Details:
Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights, with nurses occasionally having 1 total care patient. - Largest patient population is stroke patients, including most strokes that do not need TPA, as well as comfort care and hospice patients. - Cares for post-operative patients, including amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes. - Also cares for patients with heparin drips, wound care needs, altered mental status, CIWA, AKI, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend and every other holiday.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
Proof of identification required
Certifications:
• SCRN (Stroke Certified Registered Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
