Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2120 per week.

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as a traveler at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
Overall strong neuro experience is required.
Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes are required.

Special Requests:
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Any background hits must be disclosed at time of submission.

Unit Details:
Patient population includes neurosciences, deep brain stimulators (DBS), stroke, seizures, surgical/postoperative spines, and neurological disorders.
Titration is performed only under physician orders in a step-down setting; some protocols may allow titration after education.
Common titratable or set-rate drips include amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, Nipride, ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and insulin.
Floor vents are usually on a set setting and are managed by respiratory therapy and the physician; patients requiring ventilator changes are transferred back to the ICU.
Telemetry is used on the unit; RNs do not have to read strips and document verification of monitor-tech strip readings in Epic.

Shift & Scheduling:
Weekend night positions may be scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
For weekday night positions, the weekend requirement is every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule; weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday.
Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.
Three shifts in a row may be allowed but are not guaranteed; travelers must be flexible.
Call/standby requirement is unknown.

Floating Requirements:
The clinician may float first to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E, then to the rest of the hospital if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
