Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2120 per week.

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: No previous employment allowed at this facility. Manager is open to working with block scheduling if the traveler has preferences.

Unit Details: Patient population includes CP, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, ortho, detox, post-op surgical, and pediatric patients. The unit may take a wide variety of Med-Surg patients except laboring moms and patients on titrating cardiac drips or insulin drips. Telemetry strips are read in ICU; results are faxed to Med-Surg for nurse documentation. House supervisor makes assignments; there is no charge nurse. Three nurse aides per shift. Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow; RT assists with management.

Shift & Scheduling: Manager makes the schedule. Extra shifts may be available. Every other weekend required; night shift weekend is Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Holidays rotate with regular staff. No call.

Floating Requirements: Med-Surg frequently floats to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
