Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Required First-time travelers should have a solid foundation as an RN with more than 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience. MS/Tele experience required. Telemetry remote monitoring and use of Rapid Response Teams required. Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure experience required. Blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs required. Heparin experience required. Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen tank experience required. Isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Kidney transplant experience preferred. Urology/nephrology experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. RTO: Ideally no more than 5 days.

Unit Details: Will work charge as needed for this assignment. Adult patient population. Continuous bladder irrigation, difficult urinary catheter insertion team, and post-operative care of kidney transplant patients. 50-75% urology/nephrology illnesses and surgical procedures, including kidney transplant, kidney stones, enlarged prostates, cancers of the kidney, bladder, penile, and prostate, complex bladder urology surgeries, and end-stage kidney disease. Medical-surgical overflow may include UTI, pneumonia, cellulitis, and step-down transfers from ICU and IMC with a wide range of diagnoses. Very busy unit discharging and re-admitting about a third to half of the floor per day; on rare occasions, may have up to 7 patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call.

Floating Requirements: Will float within scope to other Medical Surgical units.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 2
