Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate.

Special Requests: An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.

Unit Details: The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 or 5 on day/PM shifts and 1:5-7 on nights. The unit provides post-recovery care after PACU along a continuum for pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients. Equipment includes Rovers for medication scanning and Alaris pumps. The fast-paced unit averages 10-15 admissions per day, with the highest volume on day/PM shifts; weekday occupancy is 90-95%, and average length of stay is 2 – 3 days except for joints.

Shift & Scheduling: The assignment includes every other weekend and every other holiday. No call. The contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census; low census may occur in hour increments as needed, typically in 4-hour increments, and the traveler may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift. Flexible contract hours: set weekly hours may not be available during orientation week, and the unit is closed during holidays.

Floating Requirements: The traveler floats to all inpatient units.
