Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2270 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Special Requests: The unit will attempt to accommodate block scheduling if possible, but the every-other-weekend requirement still applies.
Unit Details: Day-shift nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-6. Telemetry patients are monitored by a central monitor technician; strips can be viewed on the floor as needed. Common drips include Lasix and heparin. The unit has no ventilated patients; patients may require BiPAP, CPAP or high-flow support. Multiple hospitalists are in house on day shift; APN coverage is in house at night, and an eHospitalist is available during night shift. No IV team is available. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy is on site during the day, with an ePharmacist available; the nursing supervisor also assists with medication needs. Common diagnoses/patient types include COPD, sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and surgical cases (hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, bowel resections and more).
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend is required (Saturday and Sunday). No call. Holiday work may be required depending on the schedule; if needed, it will be every other holiday. Self-scheduling is available, but because of the short contract terms, the manager will set the schedule.
Floating Requirements: Clinicians may float to another floor if they have the competency to do so; when floating, they will always take a full patient assignment, including ICU RNs.
