Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4-5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights. Common patient conditions include GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, patients on comfort measures, osteomyelitis, falls among elderly patients, DVT, and pulmonary embolisms; the unit is primarily medical, and patients may leave for surgery or procedures and return. RNs titrate heparin only. The unit does not have ventilators; patients may require up to 6 L of oxygen by nasal cannula, or stable BiPAP/CPAP at night or as needed. Patients requiring telemetry are monitored remotely by the house-wide telemetry department, and unit equipment is primarily Philips. RNs are expected to attempt IV starts; unit resources are available if unsuccessful, and an inpatient phlebotomy team performs blood draws.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; night-shift weekends are Friday/Saturday. Holidays are rotated. No call.

Floating Requirements: Travel RNs are first to float as needed to other medical-surgical units; they do not float to ICUs or care for chemotherapy patients.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
