Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2290 per week.

Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - Post-op patient care experience required.
Special Requests: - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. - Block scheduling may be considered but must be approved at time of contract.
Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights; may go up to 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights if needed. - Patient population includes post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients. - Common responsibilities and procedures include dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NGs, central lines, and TPN. - RNs are not required to titrate drips; heparin is the only drip used. - Two charge RNs per shift do not take patient assignments; house supervisor available 24/7. - PCT support: 7-10 patients per PCT on days and 10-15 patients per PCT on nights; PCTs assist with vitals, accu-checks, ADLs, turning, and ambulation. - Respiratory support includes CPAP and high flow; RT manages nebulizers, and RNs manage inhalers and can place patients on CPAP. - Some patients are on telemetry using Philips monitors; bedside RNs do not read strips, and monitor techs staff a central station.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday. - Rotates every other holiday. - No call. - Travelers do not self-schedule.
Floating Requirements: - Travelers are first to float and will float to units with the same level of experience. If an ICU RN floats to a general unit, they take a team of 3 patients.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
