Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - Post-op care experience required.
Special Requests: - Block scheduling may be considered but must be approved at time of contract.
Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights; may go up to 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights if absolutely needed. - Common patient population and care include post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients; dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NGs, central lines, and TPN. - No titratable drips; heparin only. - Two pre-assigned charge RNs on each shift who do not take assignments; house supervisor available 24/7. - PCT support available; days 7-10 patients per PCT and nights 10-15 patients per PCT. PCTs assist with vitals, accu checks, ADLs, turning, and ambulation. - CPAP and high flow patients on unit; RT manages nebulizers, and RNs manage inhalers and can place patients on CPAP. - Some patients are on telemetry; uses Phillips monitors, bedside RNs do not read strips, and there is a central monitor tech station.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are the weekend shifts. - Rotates every other holiday. - No call. - Travelers do not self-schedule.
Floating Requirements: - Travelers are first to float and will float to units with the same level of experience. If an ICU RN floats to a general unit, they take a team of 3 patients.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
