Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2310 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Nephrology or urology background preferred.
Special Requests: - Will work with block scheduling and traveler needs while still fulfilling unit needs. - Holidays may be negotiated.
Unit Details: - Bedside report and 1-2 hour rounding on patients are required. - Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. - Common patient population includes ESRD, AKI, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients, parathyroidectomies including some with auto-implants, ileal conduit creations, TURPs, prostatectomies, kidney stones, graft/fistula repairs, deceased and living donor kidney and pancreas transplant patients including new post-op and rejection cases, transplant biopsies, and general med overflow. - Overhead lift equipment in all rooms. - RNs are not required to titrate drips. - Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7; the charge nurse normally does not take patients, but may have a small team if staffing requires. - PCT support on all shifts: 2 PCTs with ratios of 1:10-11. Duties include vital signs, baths, activity, accu-cheks, Foley removal, and emptying and hanging CBI, but not titrating it. - No vents. BiPAP or CPAP for sleep only. Trached patients and heated high flow patients are rare. Respiratory therapists are available for assistance and treatments; RNs administer inhalers. - Telemetry is monitored by TeleTechs on another unit; nurses are not required to read or interpret telemetry information and will receive a page for rhythm changes or HR specifics. Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling available; will work with the supervisor for scheduling needs. - For day shift, a weekend-heavy option may be considered: 2 12-hour weekend shifts plus 1 12-hour shift during the week. - Every other weekend for day shift; weekends are Saturday and Sunday. - Every other holiday. - No call shifts.
Floating Requirements: - Float to other general med units. May be asked to float as a sitter or to ED or ICUs as a help-all only, but these situations are very infrequent, if ever.
