Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.
• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Sanford Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Sanford Health.

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with a large hospital, busy environment.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Previous Sanford Health employment must be disclosed; if previously worked with Sanford, employment must have ended at least 6 months before submission. Must take a full 6 months off from any Good Samaritan Society and Marshfield Clinic Health System location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Travel experience required; candidates currently on their first travel assignment will not be considered.
Unit Details: Adult medical/surgical patients, including patients experiencing behavioral disturbances. Uses telemetry, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, AcuVein, and Omnicell. 5:1 on days, 6:1 on nights.
Shift & Scheduling: Day/night rotation, every other weekend and holiday. The rotation time frame varies based on unit needs; travelers might work 3 weeks of days and then 3 weeks of nights one schedule cycle, and the next schedule cycle all days or all nights. Travelers can self-schedule; however, they are only guaranteed to have the days off listed on their contract, and during balancing they may be moved off a self-scheduled shift to balance the unit. If a specific day off cannot be supported because it would unbalance the unit, they are asked to find someone to trade with. There is usually high success in finding someone to switch with. The unit is mindful that staff are not flipping back and forth from days to nights frequently.
Floating Requirements: Willing to float to all Med-Surg units on all 3 campuses in Fargo as needed.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
