Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. Heparin drip experience required.

Special Requests: Block scheduling may be possible with staffing.

Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios: days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6. Common diagnoses/types of patients: stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable drips: heparin titrated based on PTT. High flow for stable COVID only, very rare. House-wide telemetry; nurses do not need to read their own strips. Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Every other holiday. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team. If floated outside of a general unit, they would only perform skills they are competent to do and be assigned with a nurse trained for that particular unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
