Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2860 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as a traveler at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Strong overall neuro experience is required. Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes are required. Recent Epic experience is required.

Special Requests: Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

Unit Details: Patient population includes neurosciences, deep brain stimulators (DBS), stroke, seizures, surgical/postoperative spine cases, and neurological disorders. Common titratable and/or set-rate drips include amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, Nipride, ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and insulin. Drip titration is performed only under physician orders in a step-down setting; some protocols may allow titration after education. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for floor ventilators, which are usually on a set setting and are managed by respiratory therapy and a physician. Patients requiring ventilator changes are transferred to ICU, and RN ventilator experience is not required. Telemetry is used; RNs do not read strips but verify and document the monitor technician’s strip reading.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend nights are Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday. 3 shifts in a row may be allowed but are not guaranteed; travelers need to be flexible. Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.

Floating Requirements: May float first to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E, then be offered to the rest of the hospital if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
