Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL

• 12 months between Per Diem at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Any Perm or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must be willing to take trach and laryngectomy patients - experience not required but must be willing to learn and take these patients.

• IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Gastrointestinal, Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Genitourinary/Renal, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), Medications, PCA, Plastics, Surgical drains, Respiratory, Tracheostomy care/management, Professional Knowledge and Skills, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Additional Skills, SCREEN if missing required skills

Required Credentials:

• Valid/current US Driver’s license or US ID card

• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Dressing changes; Drain removals; flush drains; sutures and staple removal; Nasogastric tube insertion; Central Line dressing; Intravenous Insertions: Suctiong of Tracheostomy and Laryngectomy patients; Ostomy applications; Indwelling urinary catheter insertion; Changing Suprapubic Catheters; Continuous Bladder Irrigation; Blood Transfusion

Types of Patients on Unit:  Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: Continuous pulse ox; Feeding Tube pumps; intravenous infusion pumps; walkers; hospital beds; Sequential Compression Devices; End tidal CO2 monitoring; Optiflow for airway humdifications; Wound Vacs; Patient Controlled Analgesics; Suction Devices; Bladder Scanner; Heating pads; Sit to Stand; Total Lift Devices; Gait Belts; Wheelchairs.

Unit/Facility Details:

• Number of Beds: 24; Total Staffed Beds: 562 beds

• Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.

Special Requests: No Block Schedule

Shift & Scheduling:

• Shift: 3x12 or 4x12

• Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend. If requested time off falls on weekend traveler would be scheduled per rotation, traveler will be scheduled additional weekend to make up for time away.

Floating Requirements: Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1

1 reference from last 3 years (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required after submission

1 reference from last 3 years (Charge/Lead reference type) - required after submission
