Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Sunrise is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Peritoneal dialysis experience highly preferred.
Special Requests: Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Staff is allowed to submit up to 6 requests off per 6-week schedule.
Unit Details: Remote telemetry as needed; monitored on a different unit. RNs are not required to read strips; however, if they have experience reading strips, they can also read them. IV team starts all IVs on this unit; RNs assess IV sites but do not start their own IVs. Drips: Heparin; very rare Lasix but not continuous; PCAs with MSO4; maybe an Ativan gtt; no cardiac gtts or insulin. Vents: Bipap (intermittent only), Cpap, High Flow. Uses Pyxis. Patient population/cases: All ortho post-ops, all basic neuro post-ops (laminectomies, discectomies, spinal fusions), all other general post-ops (gallbladders, mastectomies, sleeve gastrectomies), infections, and other medical diagnoses including COPD, CP, pneumonia, and cellulitis. Hemodialysis is on this floor. If a patient is being tested for COVID, they will usually remain on this unit unless results will take longer, then they transfer to the COVID unit.
Shift & Scheduling: Every-other-weekend (3 weekends out of a 6-week schedule). Nights: Fri/Sat. Work into the holiday rotation schedule. Schedules are made out for 6 weeks at a time.
Floating Requirements: May float to other Med Surg and Med Surg/Oncology units. Could possibly float to IMC but would be assigned Med Surg overflow only; no gtts.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
