Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Telemetry strip reading preferred.

Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - The facility may make one off exceptions if previously employed at the facility, but exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details: - Uses Epic charting. - Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, including typical Med-Surg patients such as pneumonia, CHF, COPD, hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, babies with elevated bilirubin, asthma exacerbation, and swing bed rehab patients. - Patient ratios are typically 1:4, average 1:5, and can go up to 1:6 on rare occasion. - RNs very rarely titrate drips; common drips include insulin and antibiotics. - Travelers may serve as charge or preceptor; charge nurse may occasionally take a 1:2 assignment. - Unit has nurse aides/patient care techs at 1:10. - Remote tele tech available. - RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP home regimen, and occasional high flow; RT sets up and monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: - 12-hour 7-7 day/night rotating shifts; 6 weeks on days, remainder on nights. - Manager makes the schedule and tries to block nights together; staff may swap shifts. - Weekend requirement: minimum of 5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period and may be more if needed. Nights: Friday and Saturday; days: Saturday or Sunday. - Holiday requirement if needed. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - First to float; could float to L&D or ED for helping hands.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
