Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Mary Lanning Healthcare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Chest tube experience preferred. - Charge nurse experience preferred.

Special Requests: - 50 mile radius for all travelers. - No self-scheduling. Block scheduling may be accommodated as much as possible, and travelers will fill gaps in the first schedule.

Unit Details: - Patient population includes dementia, post-surgical, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, cancer, and COVID patients. - Pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care. - RNs do not titrate drips. - Charge nurse takes patients; travelers may need to work charge if they have the experience. - CPAP on unit, managed by RT. - Telemetry is on the floor, and monitor techs read the monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: - Generally every 3rd weekend, but may be more based on unit need. - Every 3rd holiday; expect to work one of the winter holidays. - No call requirement. Call is only assigned if a traveler requests their scheduled shift off or volunteers to cancel.

Floating Requirements: - Can float to PCU for Med-Surg overflow or very low acuity PCU patients.

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
