Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Unit Details: - Ratios: Day shift 1:4-6; night shift 1:5-6. - Charge nurse is usually available 24/7 and may take patient assignments if needed. - CNAs ratio 1:10-15. - Tele patients are monitored by a central monitor tech; strip visualization is available on the floor if needed. Lasix and heparin drips are the most common on Med-Surg. - No vents on the unit. BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow patients are seen. - Multiple hospitalists are in house on day shift; APN coverage is in house at night, with eHospitalist support overnight. - No IV team. RT is available 24/7. Pharmacy is on site during the day with ePharmacist support after hours; the nursing supervisor assists with medication needs. - Common diagnoses/patients: COPD, sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and post-op surgical patients including hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). - No call requirement. - Holidays may be required; every other holiday if needed.

Special Requests: - Self-scheduling is available, but given the short contract term, the manager will put schedules in. Block scheduling may be accommodated if possible, but the every other weekend requirement must still be met.

Floating Requirements: - May float to another floor if competency allows. When floating, you will always take a full patient assignment, including ICU RNs.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
