Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
Required Skills/Experience: Strong knowledge in infectious disease and isolation precautions.
Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers who are current or previous employees. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Block scheduling will be allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met.
Unit Details: Ratios: 1:5-6; 1:4 if Covid. Patient population includes infectious disease, isolation, Covid, MRSA, and C-Diff. No cardiac drips. Common drips and medications include heparin, typical Med-Surg IV medications, and antibiotics. Night charge will always take a full patient assignment. Patients may be on CPAP, BiPAP, or high flow; no vents. Respiratory therapy manages respiratory equipment. Remote telemetry is monitored from the 3rd floor; RNs do not have to read or interpret strips.
Shift & Scheduling: Travelers will be scheduled where they are needed. Every other weekend. Weekend night shifts are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Holidays will depend on unit needs; travelers may be expected to work holidays if permanent staff coverage is insufficient.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float. Floating is required to any Med-Surg units. If floated to Tele, they will be assigned patients within their skillset.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
Driver’s license required for submission
