Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Previous employees may be considered on a one-off exception basis with approval from St. Luke’s Health System. Holiday coverage as needed.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Unit Details: Primarily a medical floor with some surgical overflow; common patient populations include respiratory, GI, behavioral health, and other medical patients, including ER boarders awaiting discharge planning. Must be willing to take students and may precept new travelers. Patient ratio is typically 1:5; occasional 1:6 assignments are very rare. Common drips include heparin, PCA, and morphine. Charge nurse on each shift; usually does not take patients but may if needed. Day shift also has an ADT nurse to help with admits, discharges, and tasking. PCT support 1:8. Uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; RT manages CPAP/BiPAP. Virtual telemetry tech support; RNs are required to read and interpret their own strips. Uses SpaceLab and is transitioning to Philips.

Shift & Scheduling: 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period.

Floating Requirements: First to float. Will float between MedSurg 5 and MedSurg 6 and may also float to like units in the system, including Boise Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center. Could also float to ER for holds.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
