Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL

• 12 months between Per Diem at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Any Perm or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Preferred Skills/Experience: Accessing/Managing Ports, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Pre/Post neurosurgery, Traumatic Brain injury, IV insulin protocols, Total Joint Replacements, Post cardiac surgery, Post MI. Previous Charge Experience and Teaching Hospital Experience.

Required Credentials: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

• Patient Diagnoses: 2G, Bariatric weight loss surgery, Plastic surgeries (flaps, finger reattachments, etc.), General level burn wound management, med/surg overflow

• Special Procedures: Cares for patients coming in for elective bariatric surgery, specialty plastics procedures that require frequent assessments of surgical skin grafts/flaps, patients who come in for management of chronic wounds that may need debridement and frequent wound care, post-op cosmetic surgeries, burns that require frequent assessment/dressing care, and occasionally post-op gynecologic surgeries.

Types of Patients on Unit:  Most patients range from older adult to geriatric with at times, adolescent to younger adults.

Equipment Used on Unit: bariatric graded lifts (hoyer and sit-to-stand)

Unit/Facility Details:

• 22 beds; Total Staffed Beds: 562 beds

• Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.

• Valid/current US Driver’s license or US ID card

Special Requests: Discuss block schedule requests with manager.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend.

Floating Requirements: Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by
