Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Central lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Prefer candidates who have Epic experience and travel experience on a Med Surg floor; if they have experience in a level I trauma center, will consider without travel experience as long as they have Epic experience.

Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 and 1:5-6 from 23-0730. Common diagnoses/types of patients: acute care gen-med: cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute resp failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health and addictions. Heparin and Lasix drips; no titration required. Free charge RN on each floor. PCTs assist with vital signs, accucheks, bladder scans, and ADLs; ratio 1:8-10. BiPAP/CPAP for sleep apnea, inhaler administration, and suctioning. Housewide telemetry is monitored remotely; RN can view strips on pack or computer. Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling via API electronic schedule; block scheduling allowed. Every other weekend - Sat/Sun for days and Fri/Sat for nights. No call.

Floating Requirements: Rotation to any other acute care gen med area (nephrology, neuro, ortho, oncology).

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
