Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Unit Details: - Nurse-patient ratios: 4-5:1 on days, 5-6:1 on nights. - Wide range of primarily medical diagnoses including GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, comfort measures, osteomyelitis, falls in elderly patients, DVT, and pulmonary embolisms. Patients may leave for surgery or procedures and return to the unit. - RNs are required to titrate heparin; heparin is the only titratable/set-rate drip. - No vents; patients may have oxygen requirements up to 6L NC and stable BiPAP/CPAP at night or PRN. - Telemetry patients are monitored remotely via a house-wide telemetry department; unit equipment is primarily Phillips. - RNs are expected to attempt IV starts and use unit resources if unsuccessful; inpatient phlebotomy team is used for blood draws.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; night shift weekend is Fri/Sat. - Holidays rotated. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Travel RNs are first to float as needed. Will float to other med/surg-like units. No ICUs and do not take care of chemo patients.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
