Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is required.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.
Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers accepted if they have a solid foundation as an RN; > 2 years’ experience in medical/surgical nursing. - MS/Tele experience required. - Previous Charge Experience: Required. - Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills: Telemetry - remote monitoring, use of rapid response teams. - Genitourinary/renal case skills: Pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure. - IV therapy/phlebotomy skills: Blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs. - Medication skills: Heparin. - Respiratory case skills: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, portable oxygen tank. - Professional knowledge and skills: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - Kidney transplant experience preferred. - Urology/nephrology experience preferred.
Special Requests: - Block schedule requests will be tried but are not guaranteed. - RTO restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
Unit Details: - Urology/nephrology unit. - Adult patient population. - Continuous bladder irrigation, difficult urinary catheter insertion team, post operative care of the kidney transplant patient. - 50-75% urology/nephrology illness and surgical procedures as well as kidney transplant. - Frequent kidney stones, enlarged prostates, cancer of the kidney, bladder, penile, and prostate, as well as complex bladder urology surgeries. - End-stage kidney disease. - Medical surgical overflow with a variety of diagnoses including UTI, pneumonia, and cellulitis. - Step down transfers from ICU and IMC with a wide range of diagnoses. - Very busy unit discharging and re-admitting about a third to half of the floor per day. - On rare occasions, may have up to 7 patients.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Will float to other Medical Surgical units.
5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 2
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required
