Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. - Must have heparin gtt experience.
Special Requests: - Will block if it is possible with staffing.
Unit Details: - Nurse: patient ratios: Day shift 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6. - Common diagnoses/types of patients: stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow. - RNs are required to titrate drips. - Common titratable drip: heparin titrated drip based on PTT. - High flow for stable COVID only (very rare). - House-wide telemetry; nurses do not need to read their own strips. Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. - Holiday requirement: every other. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team. If floated outside of a general unit in case of urgent need, they would only perform skills they are competent to do and be assigned with a nurse trained for that particular unit.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
1 reference required from within the last 3 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
